Hi gentlemen,
This is the final step of the tutorial on the Fairbairn Sykes dagger, enjoy! this knife was a custom order and I still need to make the box for it. Cutting a piece of wood (Itin) for the handle. ![]() Drilling the center for the blade's tang. ![]() Manually shaping the handle and finishing it with 400 grit sandpaper. ![]() ![]() Placing the already shaped handle into the blade. ![]() Piece of damascus for the pommel. ![]() Working on that piece (drilling, threading and grinding it) ![]() ![]() ![]() Final manual sanding. ![]() ![]() Threading the pommel on the threaded end of the blade's tang. ![]() Finished knife! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking ![]() Regards, Ariel |

Kev...Is that fine F/S yours?????
WOW!!!! I've only seen one of those, a British WW2, "original". I bought it with a load of stuff and sold it the same way. Just one more of those things I keep kicking myself over!

I received this beauty yesterday and the craftsmanship is simply remarkable.
Ariel is one hell of an artist and I am proud to add this to my "permanent" collection. BTW, check this out. http://www.ramanon.com/

I'm not really a big fan of the F/S design, but that is one magnificent dagger. Extrordinary work. Amazing.

This dagger is even more amazing in person! I am gonna try and take some more pics to show just how very awesome it is. The blade with the brass bits in it are just mesmerizing.
Every detail of this knife is well thought out.If anyone ever wants a knife made to order from scratch I can think of no finer craftsman than Ariel Salaverria to make it for you. He will treat you right and is a true gentleman. You will never see this dagger for sale so if you want something similar you will just have to talk to Ariel and have him make one for you.

That is a fantastic knife. I was surprised how well the brass inclusion worked, and looks.
What I would really like to know, though, is the shape of the tang. It's the one thing you didn't picture, and I'm looking to do my own FS blade sometime soon. Thanks in advance! - Chris |
